We are: a non-profit knowledge sharing network for Community Performance practitioners.
We aim: to build the capacity of Community Performance practitioners to generate and use evidence in order to boost and sustain their work.
We define Community Performance as methodologies and strategies that involve the Performing Arts in projects facilitated by, with and for community groups.
Our definition includes various Performing Art forms, including: Circus, Clowning, Dance, Drama, Puppetry, Storytelling and Theatre.
We curate knowledge about Community Performance which we achieve through two main programmes:
Firstly, on our Documentation Programmes, we run training and mentoring programmes to help practitioners generate original resources about their practice, whilst also offering consultancy services to document Community Performance projects, programmes, and conferences ourselves.
To complement our Documentation Programme, we also run the Archival Programmes in which we archive materials about past and ongoing projects in order to collate existing resources about Community Performance.
By sharing the knowledge we curate by maintaining an international Online Resource Library, we facilitate a hub that acts as a Community Noticeboard, Evidence Hub, Networking Hub and Resource Bank, that also offers Education & Training and Consultancy, and undertakes Advocacy work.
