Brigitte Dethier has been the Artistic Director and Stage Manager/Director of the Youth Ensemble Stuttgart since 2002 and Artistic Director of the festival, Schone Aussicht. In addition, she has been involved for years in international associations and organisations for the promotion of professional Children and Young People’s Theatre: as the first chairperson of the German ASSITEJ, as a board member of the German Stage Association for the state of Baden-Wurttemberg. In 2014, she was awarded the Order of Merit Baden-Wurttemberg for the foundation of and successful work at the JES. In 2009, she was awarded the German Theatre Prize DER FAUST for her production Still 5 Minutes together with the Belgian choreographer Ives Thuwis-De Leeuw. She works at the universities in Stuttgart, Hamburg, and Munich as a lecturer in acting, directing, and theatre management.
Tony Reekie is, as of 30th September 2019, Executive Director and Joint CEO of Catherine Wheels Theatre Company. Tony brings a wealth of experience to the role, having held a range of executive positions for national and international performing arts companies. Tony is internationally regarded as a leading figure in Children’s Theatre. In his 20-year tenure as CEO of Imaginate, Tony led the company’s development from an annual Children’s Theatre Festival to the national organisation responsible for the promotion and development of Theatre and Dance for Children and Young People in Scotland. He brings sector experience from his time as a Programmer, Producer, Fundraiser, and Strategic Consultant for a variety of organisations around the world. This work includes: International Director for the ASK (Shanghai), Associate Director for Spark Festival (Leicester), Guest Director of Take Off Festival (Durham), and Creative Producer for Lyra (Craigmillar).
