Sabrina Baran was born into a puppeteering family and was drawn to the worlds of Performing Arts, Dance, and Visual Arts early on. Following her two years of dancing at École supérieure de danse du Québec, she turned to acting. She was actively involved in student theatre companies while completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology which she wanted to complete to have a deeper knowledge of human behaviour. Following her studies, she began training with Quebec and European Masters of Puppet Theatre, using shadow and object puppets to create productions geared for children and toddlers. Since she officially began working with L’Illusion, Théâtre de marionnettes, Sabrina has been involved in creating, developing, and performing all of the company’s summer performance workshops. In 2008, she joined the cast of Chantefable as a puppeteer. This production led her to perform in Europe and Quebec, including at the Maison Théâtre Playhouse. She acted as an Artistic Advisor for the creation of Les Habits Neufs and, in 2012, was closely involved in creating Under The Stars, a production in which she also performs. Today, she is Co-Artistic Director of L’Illusion, Théâtre de marionnettes.
