Eivind Haugland & Louis Valente Discuss Theatre for Young Audiences – Faces of the ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering 2019

Part 2 of our Interview Series with Delegates at the ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering 2019

Eivind Haugland is a Dramaturg, Essayist, and Translator currently working at the Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe. He holds a Master Degree in Drama and Theatre from NTNU in Trondheim and a Master’s Degree in Dramaturgy from Hamburg. He also has experience as an Instructor for Children and Young People and as a Dance Consultant at DansiT – Center for Dance Arts in Sør-Trøndelag. He is on the board of ASSITEJ Norway.

Louis Valente has been working for ASSITEJ Denmark since 2013. He is currently the Secretary General for ASSITEJ International. He has been involved in projects on international Theatre for Young Audiences with partners in South Africa, Cameroon, North Korea, Cuba, Brazil, Turkey, and the Nordic countries. Moreover, he has been the host of delegates from almost every corner of the world at the annual Aprilfestival in Denmark. He holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and Cultural Encounters. 

Eliot Moleba is a Johannesburg-based scholar, playwright, and director. He is one of the founding members of PlayRiot, a collective of playwrights committed to telling bold, contemporary South African stories. Moleba’s work explores social issues and how they (re)shape young people’s lives. He is now producing a ten-part series of artistic productions under the theme “The War You Don’t See”, looking at how global conflicts and migration impact and/or affect children’s lives. He was the resident dramaturg at The South African State Theatre, and is currently enrolled for a PhD in Theatre Directing at The Oslo National Academy of the Arts. ///// Andreas Fredriksen is a Photographer and Cinematographer based in Kristiansand. He holds a bachelor degree in Literature, Film, and Theatre from the University of Agder and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Drama and Theatre.
